Fall’s the season for Fresh Hop Beers
This year’s harvest is in and that means fresh hops abound. Earlier in the month we headed out to Goschie Farms in Silverton to check out what this season’s hop harvest had to offer. Goschie Farms grows hops in
an environmentally sensitive manner and is Certified Salmon Safe. After touring the facility in Silverton we returned with 100 lbs. of Willamette hops, packed with fresh orange and cantalope aromas. Within just 3 hours of
harvest the hops were in the brew kettle. Brewing with wet hops requires five times the weight of their dried equivalent and adds a fresh flavor that can’t be beat. Traveling to the hop fields and brewing in the same
day is always the highlight of our year, and these fresh hop ales are sure to be the highlight of yours. Enjoy!
Tonight (Tuesday Sept 30th) we unveil our first of two fresh hop beers:
Fest of Fury
Our organic-salmon safe Fest Bier judo chops your palate with a fresh floral, fruity and slightly orangey hop aroma backed by a medium bodied, toasted caramel malt flavor. Brewed with 100 pounds of beautiful Certified Salmon Safe
“wet” Willamette hops from Goschie Farms (Silverton, OR). This fest beer brings back memories of Munchen while celebrating the hops of Oregon and will have us all cheering, “Eins, Zwei,
Zuffa!”

Come by for a pint tonight, or swing by tomorrow when I’ll be dolling out samples and brewing knowledge for your consuming pleasure.
Parsec Pale – On tap Tuesday, October 7
Making the fresh hop beer run in less than 12 parsecs, our organic strong pale ale does battle with the evil empire of flavorless beers. We loaded our hop back with 20 pounds of freshly kilned, extremely high alpha, Millennium
hops from Coleman Farms (Independence, OR). This single hop addition gave us all the resinous citrus hop aroma, flavor and bitterness we needed. So tasty, you’ll give a wookie growl of satisfaction that’ll
resonate in a galaxy far, far away.
